The Mercantile
A Place with Many Purposes
The Mercantile is a quaint shopping and dining space located in a historic bank building in the heart of Dousman, Wi - home of the frog jumping contest!
The Mercantile is open Wednesday through Saturday, and the cooler, pantry, and bakery case are stocked weekly with a small batch of seasonal goodness for you to enjoy. You can also shop our online retail store and choose a quick and convenient pick-up in the Mercantile.
With limited exception, all products are handmade onsite in the Artisan Kitchen - our creative kitchen space neatly tucked into the back of the Mercantile. We work with local farms and orchards to source the best possible organic ingredients across the seasons - we are committed to exceptional quality and service - we wouldn't have it any other way.
The Artisan Kitchen offers a Chef's Choice seasonal bistro menu that changes weekly and a savory breakfast feature every Saturday. Grab it and go or enjoy it in the Mercantile.
Grab-n-Go or Sit a Bit
In the Mercantile, you can shop our preserved products, enjoy a muffin and a cup of coffee, grab a sweet or savory treat from the cooler, have lunch and a beer, sip wine and dine, or host your own event. There are many ways to enjoy the Artisan Kitchen and Brick House Mercantile; check out a few of our customer craft favorites!
Visit our retail store and order online for pick up in-store! If you are looking for a full-sized dessert or a large order, pre-order is required with 72 hours advance notice.
Artisan Dinners
A Chef Curated Seasonal Menu
Held multiple times monthly, these intimate dinners around the Mercantile farmhouse table offer an exquisite multi-course chef-curated 2-hour interactive dining experience often referred to as a cross between fine dining and attending a great dinner party! The event is limited to 12 guests that will share a bond over food - "we will break bread and be friends" at our community table. You can buy one ticket or twelve, but when they are gone - they are gone until the next time - and each dinner is a unique experience.

The Chef curated seasonal menu is prix fixe - and the "set price" varies by menu. Two paired beverages (wine, beer, or NA cocktails), coffee, tea, and Port are included.
